OBSGESSION’s second annual meeting is approaching

OBSGESSION’s second annual meeting is approaching

The second annual meeting of OBSGESSION’s consortium is just around the corner. The event is planned to occur between the 11th and 13th June, in Zernez, Switzerland, with time for networking and fieldwork on the 13th. It will gather consortium partners, case study leaders, and OBSGESSION Advisory Board members.

The gathering will give the opportunity to all partners to revisit and discuss recent project updates and outcomes. It will feature presentations from our coordinator, Petteri Vihervaara, from Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), as well as project partners from CNRS, VITO, the University of Twente (UTWENTE), UNEP-WCMC and Pensoft Publishers, who will chair dedicated sessions on topics including Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs), Earth Observation-based algorithm integrations, Project policy outputs and dissemination and stakeholder engagement in the next year. The final day of the planned meeting will give an opportunity for more extended networking, fieldwork and sightseeing.

For the past two years, the OBSGESSION project hasn’t stopped making amazing progress in advancing biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring through Earth Observation.
