The Previous Research campign wraps up

The Previous Research campaign, our first and longest social media initiative to date, has concluded. This campaign was designed to share the scientific work that partners in the OBSGESSION consortium had published before the project officially began.

The campaign's main goal was to showcase the valuable work our partners had previously done to solve problems in ecosystem monitoring and to enhance knowledge and methodologies for biodiversity protection.

The campaign began in October 2024 and consisted of 21 posts, which were regularly published on the OBSGESSION pages on X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn, ьха since April 2025, on Bluesky as well . The topics of the posts varied widely, ranging from reviews of recent technological advancements in remote sensing to breakdowns of large-scale initiatives such as the Horizon 2020 Coordination and Support Action ESMERALDA and the EuropaBON network, a European Union project focused on creating a framework for monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem services across the EU. Classic research articles on climate change, its detrimental effects on ecosystems, and the measures needed to counteract them were also included.

Overall, the campaign presented OBSGESSION followers with the expertise and experience of our team, establishing a strong foundation for achieving the project's goals and mission.

For those who may have missed any of the posts, the campaign's official hashtag is #PreviousResearch. By following this hashtag, users can easily catch up on all the shared information and stay in the loop.
